NSG is an application that covers all test functions and latest technologies such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, CDMA2000, EVDO, LTE, and 5G NR. It allows for full recording and decoding of protocol layers on supported technologies and direct decoding of Layer 3 signaling and data protocol packets on cell phones.
NSG Map is a feature that combines outdoor and indoor measurements, making it easier to test in complex locations like subways, malls, and airports.
The app supports a wide range of devices, including Qualcomm, MediaTek Dimesnsity, Samsung Exynos, and Huawei Kirin. Root access is needed for Qualcomm and MediaTek devices, while a custom ROM is preferred for Huawei Kirin. For Samsung Exynos variants, a token from Samsung is required. The Pixel 6 can also be used for Exynos testing, but root access is needed. More information can be found on the NSG website.
The NSG team's goal is to lower the cost of network maintenance, optimization, and engineering processes. Many test tools on the market are expensive, some even more expensive than a basestation. This is why the NSG team created this app, to help more users and carriers benefit from it.
One of the features of NSG is Band Locking, which allows users to specify which bands their phone can search for service on. This is useful for identifying specific coverage in certain locations or for testing purposes. It also allows users to force their phone to stay on a different band if one is congested.
Overall, Network Signal Guru is a new app that provides a wealth of information on cellular networks. The NSG team can be contacted at info@qtrun.com for any inquiries or assistance.
